NFL Week 7 Buy or Sell?

Welcome to ‘NFL Week 7 Buy or Sell?’! Week 6 revealed many different things, and one of them is that the injury bugs from weeks four and five are still very much present. Puka Nacua and Emeka Egbuka were headliners in that category for this week. Let’s see how we can help our teams that otherwise would be in some major trouble if we did not make a move.

Week 7 Buys

Jaylen Waddle

Jaylen Waddle has been tremendous the last few weeks since the Tyreek Hill injury. This proves a few things to note, one, he is that good, and two, between Tyreek hogging a ton of the target share and Tua Tagovailoa’s injury history the past few years, it has been difficult for Waddle to showcase his true talent we saw in the first couple years of his career. I was completely out on Waddle at the beginning of the year because of the reasons listed above, but also because of the incompetence of the Miami Dolphins as a franchise in the NFL. Head Coach Mike McDaniel looked to be easily getting fired midseason. This team, offensively, has looked much better since the first two weeks of the year.

Now, from a real-life perspective, McDaniel is a dead duck, but I do think that they will wait until the offseason to fire him. Leaving at least a little bit of hope that the offense we once saw from him is going to shine at times, giving way for Waddle to be productive. I also think that Waddle could be traded in real life, which could open things up for the Dolphins receiver. For now, he is a Dolphin and still a bye. Since the Tyreek Hill injury, Waddle has averaged about 8 targets per game and roughly 80 yards. This is a super productive receiver that I think will be a great option on any team moving forward. I would trade A.J. Brown, Brock Bowers, and Travis Etienne for him.

Confidence: 8/10

Rashee Rice

Last chance! All aboard to buy Rashee Rice. Most likely, the manager in your league is ecstatic to get Rashee Rice back into his starting lineup in week 7, but that should not deter you. Rashee Rice should have been a buy everywhere the past few weeks, but there is still a chance, since we have not seen him take a snap, that you have a decent shot of getting him.

Rice is coming off a major knee injury and suspension, so it has been a while since we have seen him on the field, but here is the good news… The last time we saw him, it seemed like he was heading closer to Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Puka Nacua territory than Marvin Harrison Jr. territory. He was averaging over 20 fantasy points per game last season before the injury. Now, I do not expect this production right away from the 25-year-old wide receiver, but I do think that his ceiling as this type of player remains. The Kansas City Chiefs‘ offense this season can hang with the best of them, and they proved that on Sunday Night against the Detroit Lions

I expect Rice to be a massive part of their offense for the rest of the season and would trade him for a range of these players: Kenneth Walker III, Tetairoa McMillan (Coming off 2 touchdowns), Courtland Sutton, and Rome Odunze. All of these players are ranked similarly in ECR.

Confidence: 8/10

Derrick Henry

As someone who has never had Derrick Henry before on any of my many, many fantasy teams, I am jumping out of my shoes at the opportunity that is presenting itself right now with the King Henry. Henry had a much better game than he had in recent weeks. In fact, it was his first time having a game where he had over 100 rushing yards since his week one monster game against the Buffalo Bills. Henry is headed into the bye this week, and if the Derrick Henry owner is struggling, which they probably are, and your team is 4-2, 5-1, or 6-0. This is the perfect move to make. The Baltimore Ravens‘ mission this bye week is to get healthy. Their defense and QB Lamar Jackson will come back and try to save the season.

Henry and the Ravens play Miami and Chicago after the bye. Two teams that they can definitely run on. I would trade players like Kenneth Walker III, Breece Hall, and Rome Odunze for him. This could be Derrick Henry pulling off late-season heroics once again.

Week 7 Sells

Jake Ferguson

Jake Ferguson has been the steal of Draft season thus far. He has caught 4 touchdowns and finished as a top-5 tight end in 4 of 6 weeks thus far this season. Most of this production has been without the star wideout for the Dallas Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb. He is expected to return within the next two weeks, which is frustrating for the Fergusion owners. What I will say, though, is that Ferguson finished as the tight end 4 in week two against the New York Giants. Lamb was in the lineup for that matchup.

Ferguson has been a target monster, having one game below good production for a tight end, and that was last week against the Carolina Panthers. I expect him to get more than that every week, even with Lamb returning. I am not sold on selling Ferguson immediately, as he will be a solid option at a volatile position ROS, but if you can get more for him than I would. If you were able to make these unlikely deals for George Kittle, Tyler Warren, or Tucker Kraft. These could be options to make your team better this season, while getting the best of Jake Ferguson early in the Year.

Confidence: 4/10

Ashton Jeanty

I am officially done with Ashton Jeanty in 2025. He has put up numbers ever since his 3-touchdown performance against the Chicago Bears in Week 4. The opportunity is there for Jeanty, which is great, but his inefficiency and the offense he is in are bad. I do not like being in this Las Vegas Raiders offense. It is inefficient and unable to score points for most of the season now. Jeanty has averaged under 4 yards per carry in 4/6 games this season and is just a player I am fading rest of the season. You can get a lot for him right now, and that may be the reason to trade him now.

With Jeanty’s value being so high right now, trade him before you can’t get some of the players you can at this current moment. I would trade him for Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, and Bucky Irving. These are players ranked right around him that I would rather have for the rest of the season.

Confidence: 6/10

J.K. Dobbins

J.K. Dobbins has held this position for longer than I anticipated so far this season. I was expecting him to either have an injury or be playing second fiddle to rookie RB RJ Harvey, my ‘flag plant’ player this season. Dobbins has been pretty solid this season, scoring 4 touchdowns and running for about 80 yards a game, while getting an average of 15 carries per game. All of this being said, the offense looked extremely poor this past week in London, and this may be Harvey’s last chance, barring injury, to get the starting gig from Dobbins.

I think this could be Harvey’s runway to take over the Denver backfield. Denver plays the Giants, Cowboys, Houston, and Las Vegas the next four weeks, and these defenses can give up yards on the ground. Harvey could be primed for a breakout, if given the opportunity in the coming weeks. Sell Dobbins, to stay ahead of the curve.
