Week 2 DFS Plays: Wentz-Jefferson stack is a great building block

Top DFS Plays

Hopefully, you followed my Week 1 DFS Plays and cashed in.

It wasn’t a big profit day for me but 8 of my 10 lineups cashed pretty easily. However, none of my lineups surpassed the 200-point mark which was needed to hit big money last week.

I can’t complain, though, as the first week of the DFS season can be a tough one to gauge with new coaches and players in new places.

Let’s get into our Week 2 plays!

QB DFS Plays

Carson Wentz, Minnesota ($4,600, 8 percent rostered)

The trials and tribulations of Kyler Murray continue after a concussion suffered early in the Vikings’ Week 1 win against the Green Bay Packers.

Carson Wentz stepped in and led the Viking to that win and will get another chance for a start against the Chicago Bears defense.

The Bears gave up 35.44 DraftKings points to Carolina quarterback Bryce Young and 36.8 points to wide receiver Jalen Coker last week.

And Wentz has a nice rapport with the Vikings’ biggest weapon – Justin Jefferson. The two connected for 31.2 points as Jefferson finished with 8 catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

As you can see, I will have a nice stack again for the Week 2 slate as Wentz is the top QB play on my spreadsheet.

Chalky play: Dak Prescott, Dallas ($6,400, 9.3 percent rostered)

Cheap play: Wentz

RB DFS Plays

Derrick Henry, Baltimore ($7,200, 7.6 percent rostered)

Baltimore’s Derrick Henry never seems to age.

The 32-year-old RB had a monster game against the Indianapolis Colts last week as he rushed for 144 yards and 3 TDs and added 1 catch for 19 yards.

Now he faces a New Orleans Saints team that gave up 156 yards rushing to Detroit’s Jahmyr Gibbs last week.

And the Ravens are down two WRs because of injuries. Zay Flowers is probably out with a hamstring injury and Ja’Kobi Lane has already been ruled out with a broken wrist.

It’s time to hook up the Henry Express as he is also my top RB play on my spreadsheet.

Chalky play: Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco ($8,000, 55.4 percent rostered)

Cheap play: Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay ($6,100, 11.3 percent rostered)

WR DFS Plays

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota ($7,800, 9.2 percent rostered)

It’s pretty obvious that when you are playing against teams with a bad defenses and a good offenses there should be plenty of points as in the Vikings-Bears Week 2 game.

Justin Jefferson may be the biggest benefactor in the NFC North matchup.

Despite a sluggish history against the Bears, Jefferson is facing a defense that gave up 47.3 DK points to WRs last week. And the Vikings pass defense is suspect, as well, giving up 58.2 DK points to WRs las week.

There should be plenty of offense in Chicago in Week 2.

Chalky play: CeeDee Lamb, Dallas ($7,300, 27.3 percent rostered)

Cheap play: Jaylin Noel, Houston ($3,700, 0.2 percent rostered)

TE DFS Plays

Dalton Schultz, Houston ($3,200, 33.1 percent rostered)

Dalton Schultz shot up my TE rankings when Nico Collins was ruled out for Week 2 because of a hamstring injury.

And that steam was also seen by the rest of the DFS machine as Schultz is seeing rostered numbers relegated to elite RBs and WRs.

But Schultz is the biggest named target left in the Texans offense. He will be competing for looks with the likes of Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel.

Schultz was second in targets last week, behind Collins, with 8.

Chalky play: Schultz

Cheap play: Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati ($3,600, 0.4 percent rostered)

DST DFS Plays

Philadelphia ($3,700, 6.1 percent rostered) at Tennessee

Pittsburgh ($2,800, 1.8 percent rostered) at New England

Jacksonville ($2,400, 7.4 percent rostered) at Denver
