The third week of NFL football concludes tonight when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Chicago Bears. With that, 30 teams have played three weeks’ worth of games, so we can start to see which players are serious threats to outperform their ADP and which haven’t lived up to expectations.
Risers
QB Tyler Shough | New Orleans Saints
Believe me, I had my doubts when the New Orleans Saints drafted Tyler Shough a season ago. I am not a fan of drafting QBs that will be 26 in their rookie season; nonetheless, Shough proves me wrong week in and week out as he is starting to look like a top 10, dare I say a top 5, QB in fantasy football to start the season. Through three games, Shough is currently on pace for 5,576 total yards, 51 total TDs, and 17INTs, which is a lot, but 2 of his 3INTs came in week 1, so he’s already getting better there.
Buy, and yes, maybe I’m too late. I’m the party with Shough, but better late than never! His production should only improve when first-round pick WR Jordan Tyson comes back healthy.
RB Ollie Gordon | Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins RB Devon Achane is possibly down for the season after a non-contact knee injury. Gordon got 20 touches for 55 yards and a TD. Not the most productive by any means, but an RB who could see significant playing time if Achane’s injury persists or is season-ending, and who’s rostered on only 2% of teams on Sleeper, will be a hot commodity on waivers.
Sell; odds are he isn’t rostered. If you can grab him on waivers while you don’t need an RB, he should be a guy you can flip, but again, it all depends on Achane’s recovery timeline.
WR Matthew Golden | Green Bay Packers
Matthew Golden of the Green Bay Packers has 30 targets for 253 yards and one touchdown through three weeks to start the season, and with injuries to Jayden Reed, Golden has come on strong as the clear-cut wide receiver two of the future for the Green Bay Packers team.
Buy, buy, buy Matthew Golden; his production at the wide receiver two spot is unlike anything we’ve seen in Green Bay’s offense over the past few years, as this could be a glimpse of more to come.
TE Kenyon Sadiq | New York Jets
Over the past few seasons, a rookie TE has finished top five among TEs in fantasy football, from Sam LaPorta (2023) and Brock Bowers (2024) to Harold Fannin (2025) and Tyler Warren (2025). Kenyon Sadiq finds himself in a great position to finish in the top five among TEs if he can keep this production going. Sadiq finished Week 3 with over 100 receiving yards on 7 receptions and a TD.
Hold, I am still a tiny bit hesitant to trade for anyone in that New York Jets offense; Sadiq does look promising. I’m not trading at all, especially since the Jets should be playing from behind in almost every matchup.
Fallers
QB Cam Ward | Tennessee Titans
Another QB from the 2025 draft, Cam Ward is in a very different situation than Tyler Shough is, as Ward has finished two of these first three games with less than 12 fantasy points, terrible for a QB, and has yet to pass for over 200 yards in any of these matchups. I am very concerned about Ward’s production. I thought the additions of rookie Carnell Tate and free-agent acquisition Wan’Dale Robinson would be enough to see a leap from year one to year two, but we’ve seen nothing so far.
Hold in dynasty, sell in redraft. I will almost always choose to hold a young QB in dynasty, especially in SuperFlex leagues, because a good QB is invaluable to your team. In redraft, he’s usually on your bench or on waivers since he’s rostered in only half of the leagues on Sleeper. If you’re in a SuperFlex league, that’s probably the one that you can sell him in because of all the QB injuries around the league.
RB David Montgomery | Houston Texans
After an explosive 3TD performance in Week 1, David Montgomery has failed to get over 50 total yards or even find the end zone in back-to-back games since. Even after a great Week 1, Monty is averaging only 2.78 yards per carry and is making fantasy owners question whether to start him moving forward.
Hold on: while this isn’t the greatest start to a season, Montgomery remains the clear-cut RB1 on a team many expect to turn things around after a devastating 0-3 start.
WR Brian Thomas Jr. | Jacksonville Jaguars
Brian Thomas Jr. had a down year last year after one of the best rookie seasons we’ve seen from a rookie, from a fantasy football standpoint, and I expected him to bounce back this year; so far, through 3 weeks, BTJ has just 88 total yards and no TDs.
Hold, I’m holding a lot today, but this isn’t by choice. If you drafted BTJ, you knew the risk of him not bouncing back. Also, to sell, you need someone to buy, and I don’t even think I can convince someone to buy Thomas Jr. after this.
TE Tucker Kraft | Green Bay Packers
Coming into the season, quite a few people thought Tucker Kraft could be the under-the-radar TE3, as it’s a dogfight after McBride and Brock Bowers, but through three games, Kraft has yet to score over 10 points in normal PPR, at least.
Sell: Green Bay has clearly found something in the passing game that’s working for QB Jordan Love and WRs Christian Watson and Matthew Golden; Tucker Kraft may be the odd man out.
