NFL Week 6 Must Sit

Welcome to NFL Week 6 Must Sit. Week Six is showcasing some of the easier Start or Sit decisions that we have had to make so far this season. A lot of this is because there are a couple of teams on bye, and the other is that the league is shaping up. We have injuries and enough data to know who is not as good this season.

Chase Brown

Chase Brown was one of my favorite players last season, heading into the year, and he remained that way throughout the year. This year in draft season, my excitement remained similar, maybe slightly subdued. BUT after Joe Burrow unfortunately had to get season-ending surgery for a severe case of turf toe. It was over for Brown’s ultimate upside this season. Brown has not had a game over TEN Half-PPR points this season. TEN points are nothing! This is bad for your second-round pick. Odds are, if you drafted Chase Brown with your second overall pick, things are not going as well for you this season.

The Cincinnati Bengals are playing the Green Bay Packers this week. The good news for the Bengals is that Jake Browning is no longer starting, after getting the wily veteran Joe Flacco. The bad news for the Bengals is that they have to go against the Packers coming off a bye, where, before that, they lost to the Browns and tied the Dallas Cowboys. There are two schools of thought. The Packers’ defense is not as good as we thought, or the Packers forgot their things together after the bye and will play buttoned up and angry this week against the lowly Bengals. I agree with the ladder. Sit Chase Brown this week.

Confidence 7/10

DJ Moore

DJ Moore has been extremely disappointing this season. He has not had more than 11 Half-PPR fantasy points this season, which is extremely disappointing. The Chicago Bears under Ben Johnson clearly like to utilize Rome Odunze much more than they like to utilize DJ Moore. It seems that Odunze has adopted the Amon-Ra St. Brown role, and not Moore. Things could change out of the bye, but with the usage of Moore, it would be surprising to see. His targets are steady at 5 per game, which is not enough for the production we expect to see. He is a volume-type player when he is at his best in your fantasy lineup.

This week, the Chicago Bears play against the Washington Commanders. This is a team that has had its ups and downs over the past few weeks defensively, but last time we saw them, they were all over Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. I expect more of the same this week as the Chicago Bears are a worse offense than the Chargers. Bench DJ Moore with uncertainty out of the bye.

Confidence: 9/10

Justin Fields

Justin Fields is one of the most frustrating players of all time. We see the upside, but ultimately, in the NFL, he is not a franchise QB. In fantasy, he has his constant spike weeks along with the late-game ‘covers’ to get to his projected points. This is a game that is not fun to play for the majority of weeks. His upside is undeniable, but this week he is headed to London town to face off against one of the league’s best defenses in the Denver Broncos. The Jets will most likely start 0-5 and spiral. The Denver Broncos can bottle up fields through the air with their secondary and on the ground. This is not a good matchup for fields.

Confidence: 10/10

Kimani Vidal

With Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton ending up on IR. The Chargers’ backfield is very much in a different space than it was about a month ago. The two options for the Chargers were Michigan alumni and Harbaugh favorite Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal. Hasskins is seen as the favorite to get most of the workload for the next four weeks, and Vidal is a second option. Vidal got the passing work when Hampton went out last week, which is promising for him in that way, but with the Chargers being a favorite this week against the Miami Dolphins. I do not anticipate that it would be a heavy workload for Vidal. Hasskins will get the ball while they are up.

Confidence: 5/10

Isiah Pacheco

Isiah Pacheco is one of the worst players in fantasy football this season. He is tied for the RB #40 spot in fantasy points per game at 7.2 and the RB #41 overall. Last week, the old but effective Kareem Hunt scored over 20 points, while Pacheco looked nowhere to be found. Pacheco has had about 8 opportunities each game, which is not enough. This is not the return on a player with an ADP of 68 you wanted. The Chiefs play the Lions on Sunday Night this week, and while the Lions are not the best run defense in the NFL, this game will be close, and the Chiefs will have to rely on their playmakers to get the job done. Unfortunately, we can no longer categorize Pacheco as a playmaker.

Confidence: 9/10
