Defensive Streamers: Colts’ surprising ‘D’ faces rookie Ward, Titans in Week 8

Defensive Streamers Week 8

Week 8 is upon us for the Defensive Streamers story, and I’m feeling a little sad.

The halfway point of the NFL season is almost here, even though it feels like the opening weekend was just yesterday.

Hopefully, our sadness can be transformed into smiles with the right DST to get us over the top during this week’s Byepocalypse.

Let’s get into the top Defensive Streamers plays!

Defensive Streamers

Indianapolis home against Tennessee

I will continue to take a defense against rookie quarterback Cam Ward and the Tennessee offense until there is some consistency.

The Titans’ passing has found some life in their last three games as they’ve averaged 247.3 yards, but they face a Colts defense that has been a much better unit in home games.

Indianapolis is giving up 307.8 yards of offense in its four home contest this season, while for the season, it gives up 396.3 yards of offense on the road.

Plus, the Titans are the second worse offense on the road this season as they have only averaged 215.0 of total offense in four road games.

The Colts also have a Top 10 rush defense, giving up 90.3 yards rushing a game this season. This may force Ward to drop back more than the Tennessee would like to see. The Titans have given up 30 sacks in 2025.

New England home against Cleveland

Like last week, the Patriots will be a team I will continue to target as a streamer if they are available in your leagues.

The Patriots have had at least one sack in all of their games expect one and have forced one turnover in all of their games except one. They are scoring the must have points for a defense. The Patriots have recorded 18 sacks and 9 turnovers.

Plus, New England is third in the league in giving up only 77.1 rushing yards.

And they enter the week getting ready to face another rookie QB in the Browns’ Dillon Gabriel. In his three starts, he has only passed for more than 200 yards once.

The Browns have only averaged 258.7 yards a game in his three starts.

Kansas City home against Washington

The Kansas City defense appears to have caught a break of not facing Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels injured his hamstring in the Commanders’ road loss to Dallas, and according to reports, Daniels won’t play in the teams’ Monday Night matchup.

The Chiefs will enter the game as Top 5 defense, but play even better at home. The defensive unit gives up 280.3 yards a game for the season, but that total drops to 242.0 yards a game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City strong suit on defense is their pass defense. It ranks fourth in the league at 174.6 yards passing a game.

The Commanders only gained 294 yards of total offense in their only road game without Daniels under center. They lost at Atlanta, 34-27, in Week 3.

While Marcus Mariota will make his third start of the season for the Commanders, he could be without his top wide receivers. As of Wednesday practice, both Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel) and Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) have questionable tags. Samuel Sr. has the best chance to return, according to Washington coach Dan Quinn, and McLaurin plans to practice for the first time since injuring his quad in Week 3.
