Fantasy football can be a frustrating monster as only the San Francisco 49ers were my only good defensive streamer last week.
Tampa Bay and Green Bay were my other two teams as the Buccaneers lost at home against the Cleveland Browns and the Packers only recorded 4 sacks in their road OT win against the New York Jets.
This week I’m going back to the team that faces the Miami Dolphins and I can’t see Deshaun Watson having two good weeks in row, right?
Let’s get into Week 3’s defensive streamers!
Week 3 Defensive Streamers
Kansas City (41 percent rostered on Sleeper)
The Chiefs are an easy click this week as they head to Miami to face the Dolphins’ struggling offense.
Kansas City has legitimate sack and turnover upside against the Dolphins. The Chiefs defense was shut out during Sundays’ overtime home win against the Indianapolis Colts, but in the their Week 1 win, the KC defense harassed Denver’s Bo Nix with four sacks and an interception.
The Dolphins offense has averaged only 271.5 yards a game and only 13 points a game.
If the Chiefs can force Miami into obvious passing situations, the combination of sacks, turnovers and points allowed gives KC defense a solid scoring floor.
The Chiefs enter the road matchup as 10.5-point favorite.
Carolina (9 percent rostered on Sleeper)
The Carolina Panthers has been the Jekyll and Hyde of defense this season.
The Panthers gave a league-high 59 points to the Chicago Bears in Week 1 before suffocating the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. Carolina held Atlanta to only three points while forcing five turnovers and recording three sacks. They also had a pick-6.
Now they face a Cleveland Browns offense that surprised Tampa Bay in a road victory.
Deshaun Watson had probably his best game in his career with the Browns as he passed for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, he was sacked five times in their Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Carolina’s ball-hawking style of play in the Atlanta win could lead to another big day on defense.
The Panthers are a 3-point road favorite.
New York Giants (5 percent rostered on Sleeper)
While most of the focus this week will be on the health of Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, the New York Giants defense has a nice home matchup against Tennessee.
And the Titans second-year QB Cam Ward continues to struggle. He’s only averaged 161.5 yards passing a game through the first two games and he’s been sacked five times.
Despite their loss Monday night, the Giants pass rush finally recorded it first sack of the season after getting shut out against Dallas in Week 1.
But New York front four of Abdul Carter, Brian Burns and Arvell Reese and Kayvon Thibodeaux could wreak havoc on the Titans offensive line that continues to have pass protection issues. Tennessee gave up 56 sacks last season.
The Giants, who are sitting on most leagues’ waiver wires, are a 6-point favorite.
