Week 6 arrives with a fresh wave of critical roster decisions as fantasy managers navigate late-breaking designations, lingering soft-tissue strains, and backfield usage shifts. From high-profile quarterbacks managing practice loads to emerging pass-catchers stepping into key roles, maintaining roster flexibility right up until kickoff remains essential for securing a win.

Lamar Jackson (QB, Ravens): Jackson has officially been ruled out after missing practice all week with an ankle sprain suffered in his previous outing. Tyler Huntley will start under center, operating as a viable streaming option in superflex formats.

Caleb Williams (QB, Bears): Williams returned to practice in a limited capacity as he manages a mild hamstring tweak. He remains on track to play, maintaining high-upside QB1 appeal against a soft secondary. Tyson Bagent or Case Keenum would play if he were to miss.

Jalen Hurts (QB, Eagles): Hurts is out indefinitely with blood clots. While not put on IR, Tanner McKee will start Sunday this week and potentially the following week or two.

Backfield Tracker for Week 6

Saquon Barkley (RB, Eagles): Barkley remains sidelined as he continues rehabilitation from a hamstring injury. His absence paves the way for expanded backfield touches in Philadelphia’s offense for Dameon Pierce, as Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley are on IR.

Breece Hall (RB, Jets): Hall is out with an ankle again, so Braelon Allen will maintain his primary workhorse role.

David Montgomery (RB, Texans): Montgomery is out with a groin injury, so in his wake, Woody Marks should secure a heavy workload on the ground and as a pass-catcher.

Jeremiyah Love (RB): Love is working through an ankle issue he reaggravated last week, so with him out, Tyler Allgeier will be the main back for Arizona.

Quinshon Judkins (RB): Judkins missed practice reps due to a lingering shoulder ailment and remains a game-time decision, carrying high risk for fantasy managers seeking a reliable starter. Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime are his backups if Judkins does miss, but he has a chance to play.

TreVeyon Henderson (RB, Patriots): Henderson showed steady progress in practice and could play this week, positioning him to share backfield snaps in a committee setup. But Rhamondre Stevenson will likely see the bulk of the work regardless due to Henderson’s injury and the severity.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB, Commanders): Croskey-Merritt is out with a groin issue, making Rachaad White available as a matchup-dependent flex option if he suits up on Monday with his own shoulder injury. Austin Ekeler is the starter if both can’t go.

Kyle Monangai (RB, Bears): Monangai has been ruled out with a turf toe injury, consolidating backfield opportunities for Chicago’s remaining active options. Roschon Johnson backs up D’Andre Swift, as he should see heavy volume.

Wide Receivers and Tight Ends to Monitor

A.J. Brown (WR, Patriots): Brown is officially questionable with an ankle injury coming off IR. If Brown is cleared, he will see significant target volume.

DeVonta Smith (WR, Eagles): Smith is back, as this lowers potential volume from McKee for Dallas Goedert, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, and Darius Cooper with a backup QB in.

Rashee Rice (WR, Chiefs): Rice will miss Sunday’s contest as he continues to recover from a hamstring issue, leaving the Chiefs’ receiving hierarchy thin as Xavier Worthy is the next man up without Tyquan Thornton, who is out for the year.

Pat Friermuth (TE, Steelers): Friermuth is questionable with a calf injury after participating in a light walkthrough on Friday. Fantasy managers should monitor inactive lists before setting lineups. If he is out, this would give an uptick for DK Metcalf, who is good to go, Darnell Washington, and Germie Bernard.

DJ Moore (WR, Bills): Moore remains questionable due to a shoulder issue that hampered his practice availability throughout the week.

Ladd McConkey (WR, Chargers): McConkey is good to go but is a risky start regardless, despite no injury designation.

Ja’Kobi Lane (WR, Ravens): Lane logged full team drills without incident and enters the weekend without an injury designation, serving as a deep-league flex consideration.

KC Concepcion (WR, Browns): Concepcion recovered fully from a concussion and will be active for Sunday’s game script.

Tyler Warren (TE, Colts): Warren carries a questionable game status with a groin issue after fully practicing all week, as he could miss this week with the injury popping up on Friday. Josh Downs and Keenan Allen would be the beneficiaries if he were to miss.
