Week 7 starts tonight when the 4-2 New England Patriots take on the 4-2 Chicago Bears in what looks to be a fun matchup between two young QBs from the 2024 draft class. It’s not the QBs we will be looking at; it’s the notable WR-CB matchups throughout the week.

WR Xavier Worthy | CB Devon Witherspoon
Xavier Worthy has a tall task ahead, as Rashee Rice is questionable for Sunday and didn’t practice yesterday. Worthy has been hit-or-miss with the Kansas City Chiefs this season. He is currently listed as the WR50, but Worthy has had two powerful back-to-back games with over 70 yards. The biggest question is where Worthy fits against one of the NNFL’sbest defenses.
Devon Witherspoon has had another stellar season so far, ranking 11th on PFF; Witherspoon has allowed only 147 yards and a stunning 0 TDs. Witherspoon will be aided by the Seattle Seahawks, which rank 3rd in points allowed to WRs (23.4).

WR KC Concepcion Jr. | CB Alontae Taylor
KC Concepcion Jr. and Denzel Boston are both poised for big games this week; focusing on Concepcion, he’s been quiet this season and hasn’t scored a touchdown. Concepcion is currently WR63, so starting him this week is hard to justify. Still, I see potential against a weak defense, and he’s due a TD!
The Tennessee Titans allow 220.5 passing yards per game (16th) and 35.9 fantasy points to WRs (T-8th). Locking in on starting CB Alontae Taylor; Taylor ranks 100 out of 102 on PFF. Taylor has given up 159 yards and 1 TD. If the Browns get decent QB play, the WRs should have a great day.
Start KC Concepcion Jr.
WR Jameson Williams | CB Keisean Nixon
The Detroit Lions have been underwhelming this season, and despite being 3-2, they are last in the NFC North. Jameson Williams was underwhelming through the first three weeks but has come on strong since, putting up 18.70 points in back-to-back games; he looks to capitalize on a favorable matchup this week to get the Lions back on track.
Keisean Nixon has allowed 197 yards and 4 TDs thus far while surprisingly being ranked 25th on PFF. The Green Bay Packers as a whole have been mediocre when limiting fantasy points to opposing WRs, ranking 14th (32.6)
Start Jameson Williams
WR Josh Downs | CB Byron Murphy Jr.
I was shocked to see 41% of Sleeper users starting Josh Downs right now, given how poorly he’s played and, more importantly, his matchup this week. The Indianapolis Colts have been without Alec Pierce, and Josh Downs has done little to nothing filling in. Downs has scored less than 9.0 fantasy points in three straight matchups and has only 103 yards over those three games.
The Minnesota Vikings allow the 5th fewest fantasy points to WRs (27.1), helped by lockdown nickel corner Byron Murphy Jr. Ranked 41st on PFF, Murphy Jr. already has 3 interceptions and has allowed 214 yards and 0 TDs. Most notably, he has held opposing QBs to a 58.2 passer rating when targeted.

WR Michael Wilson | CB Pat Surtain II
The Arizona Cardinals traded away Marvin Harrison Jr., giving full faith to Michael Wilson; however, Wilson has been quiet over the last two weeks, scoring fewer than 8 points in each game. Wilson is currently the WR23 and is being started in 74% of leagues.
The Denver Broncos have locked down WRs all season, holding opposing WRs to just 29.3 points per game, the 7th-fewest in the league. Pat Surtain II is the focal point of the Broncos; however, he’s battling an ankle injury and has missed the last couple of games. If he suits up this week, PS2 has allowed just 93 yards in his 4 games played.
